Reports indicate that Stuttgart will look to sign Arsenal’s unsuitable Konstantinos Mavropanos next summer as the defender continues to impress on loan for the German squad.
The 23-year-old was a January 2018 signing for the Gunners. But the Greece international barely kicked a ball for the north Londoners, taking advantage of temporary periods away from the club. He was loaned to Nurnberg for the second half of the 2019-20 campaign, making 11 Bundesliga 2 starts.
And he was back in Germany the following season, moving to the Bundesliga with Stuttgart. The Athens-born ace has had 19 starts among 21 top-flight appearances and is back at the Mercedes-Benz Arena for 2021-2022.
Former Arsenal sporting director Sven Mislintat is in charge of recruiting for Die Roten. And in March, he advised the youngster to be given an opportunity by Mikel Arteta.
However, this did not happen after the signing of Ben Blanc from Brighton. But former PAS star Giannina has certainly made a strong impression in her loan club.

He has made three league appearances so far while scoring his first goal for Die Schwaben. And the German point of sale Bild (via The mirror) suggest that the loan movement will be made permanent next summer.
Arsenal paid Giannina £ 1.8million for the Greek plug and could be close to making a small profit. Stuttgart are said to be under an obligation to buy the defender for £ 2.6million if he remains in the Bundesliga.
The report adds that relegation will mean they will only have one option to buy.
Popular mavropanos in Stuttgart
Mavropanos may not have made the grade in the Emirates, but he is already a fan favorite in Stuttgart. Mislintat is also a big fan of the center-back, having been responsible for his signing while working at Arsenal.
He had previously said of the player: “I like his offensive dynamism. In training you can always see some outstanding offensive actions with him.
The only issue regarding a permanent change could be Mavropanos’ injury record. He spends his fair share of time on the treatment table and that could be a concern for any suitor.
But, when in good form, the man with the four Greek caps seems like a player going in the right direction. He was linked with a £ 7million move to Stuttgart this summer.
But they won’t have to shell out that much if a deal is made at the end of the season.
