Burnley is reportedly interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Marc Albrighton.

The Clarets need reinforcements in the midfield and a decision for the 31-year-old all-rounder has been mentioned.

According to The Sun, Sean Dyche is keen to bring in the 2016 Premier League title winner to bolster his ranks after missing Ashley Young, who opted to join Aston Villa rather than Burnley earlier in the summer.

Albrighton is in the final year of his contract at King Power and may be available at a reduced price.

It would offer options on both fenders, an area in which the Clarets are shot, while providing experience and versatility.

The former Villa man was a key player in the winning Leicester squad in 2016 and made 42 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions last season, despite not being a regular holder.

Albrighton, who won the FA Cup last season after coming off the bench in the final, would bring the work pace and experience that Dyche values at an affordable salary.

Leicester would likely want to keep the midfielder given his credentials and Brendan Rodgers would hate losing a player who offers a lot on and off the pitch.

Burnley has already signed Nathan Collins this summer with the arriving defender from Stoke City for an initial £ 12million and is keen to add a second new center to his ranks ahead of the new season.
