ETHAN AMPADU signed a new contract with Chelsea before finalizing a loan transfer to Venezia.
The Italians are back in Serie A after winning last season’s play-offs, capping an increase from fourth tier just five seasons after the club was wound up and re-founded.

Ampadu promises to be a star name for the Lagunari, who also include former Italian internationals Cristian Molinaro and Mattia Caldara.
The Welsh international needs regular first-team football, having so far been unable to break out at Chelsea.
Loan spells at RB Leipzig and Sheffield United have given more than 35 appearances combined, but last year at the Blades ended in relegation.
Called up to Euro 2020, Ampadu came off the bench in Wales’ first two games before being sent off in Group A against Italy.
On Tuesday he made a due day transfer to the Venice club.
Chelsea have confirmed an agreement to extend the defender’s contract until 2024 before signing for Venezia.

And he will now spend the season at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, at the eastern end of the city’s sprawling island cluster.
In their first two Serie A matches, Venezia suffered a 2-0 loss to Napoli before falling 3-0 away to Udinese.
Chelsea have sealed loan outs for several fringe players ahead of the deadline, including Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Thierno Ballo and Dujon Sterling – with Saul Niguez arriving from Atletico Madrid.
