Combate Global’s top picks for the April 8 fight card

Before you tune in to Friday’s Combate Global fight card, you need to see the picks from SportsLine MMA insider Andrew Gombas. With over 1,400 caps tracked by third-party monitoring service Bet MMA, it has shown a 6% return on investment for its subscribers. Over the past two years, his followers have made a profit of over $10,000.

For Friday’s Combate Global fight card, Gombas is backing Diaz to get the job done in the main event against Marcettoto. Both fighters are still relatively new to MMA, but they have extensive Muay Thai experience, as Diaz is the WBC Muay Thai champion in her weight class.

Diaz made his Combate Global debut last year and scored a devastating second-round knockout over Dulce Garcia on April 30 to earn his first MMA victory (1-3). Marcnetto is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Stephanie Essensa last September to improve to 1-1 in MMA.

“Claudia Diaz is the defending WBC Muay Thai champion and she is the most experienced fighter. I think that will make all the difference in this fight. Manuela Marconetto is still too green,” Gombas told SportsLine.
