TOTY and TOTS are widely regarded as the two most exciting Ultimate Team promotions of the year. If you’re new to FIFA, you might be wondering what sets these two promotions apart.
Team of the Year celebrates the best of the calendar year, while Team of the Season uses the club football season to judge the best players in the world. TOTY only focuses on a starting XI plus a few honorable mentions, but TOTS introduces a ton of cards across all major leagues in FIFA 22.
Here’s what you need to know about the biggest promo of the year, including an official release schedule and a look at which players might be involved.
TOTS FIFA 22 release date and schedule
As confirmed by EA’s official TOTS webpage, FIFA 22 TOTS kicked off with the Community Team on Friday, April 26. The Premier League team also arrived and were followed by the Bundesliga and LaLiga teams. Currently players are enjoying the Ligue 1 team, with the next release planned for the Serie A team on June 3.
In addition to the top five leagues in Europe, players will also receive squads for other leagues around the world. The Eredivisie squad came online alongside the community squad and other leagues like the Süper Lig and Liga NOS followed suit.

Players will have plenty of content to acquire with nearly two teams released each week. On May 30, EA changed the schedule slightly by changing the Rest of the World team from June 5 to June 4.
FIFA 22 Team of the Season Explained
Team of the Season is the most enduring Ultimate Team promotion of the year. The promo begins by highlighting two leagues at once. Each week, new leagues will take center stage for Ultimate Team players as valuable cards are added to the packs.
Leagues in the spotlight remain in packs for one week until they are replaced by subsequent leagues. However, the final team of packs should be the “Ultimate TOTS” which combines the best players from each of the previously released TOTS teams.
As you may have already noticed, some major teams are decided by fan vote, while others are chosen by EA.
FIFA 22 TOTS Player Predictions
In this section, we’ll reveal five players from each of Europe’s top five leagues who we think should be included in the TOTS promotion for their leagues. Although there will be many teams up for grabs, we will focus on highlighting potential players from Europe’s elite.
While the majority of TOTS players will come from title contending teams, it’s important not to forget other key players outside of the top teams. As TOTS teams are revealed, we’ll update this list with a * next to our correct predictions.. So far we’ve gone 16/20 with the Serie A side next door.

Ultimate Team fans can expect a lot more than these five names per league, but we think these players are solid bets to qualify for their respective leagues.
