Kane remained silent

Harry Kane had the chance to set a new club record today but couldn’t extend his Premier League streak to five consecutive games.

Manchester United have proven to be a tough opponent for the striker as he has failed to score in 13 of his 17 career appearances against them in the league.

Bruno Fernandes led the way today

Manchester United took 28 shots in the game, the most by a team in a Premier League game this season.

Bruno Fernandes has created nine chances for his team-mates, the most by a player in a Premier League game this season, and the most overall in the competition since Fernandes himself in September 2021 (ten against Aston Villa).

Bruno Fernandes: “The perfect performance”

Bruno Fernandes spoke to BBC Sport after the match: “Everyone is really happy, it was a great performance and a perfect performance. We have to keep going, understand it’s a process, win or lose, and we we have to stay focused and carry on.

“We had a lot of good performances, against Newcastle we put in a really good performance, controlled the game and didn’t get the result. Today overall was the best performance because we got the result and the performance. We need more of that.

“We know the quality we have up front, we know we can be dangerous so if we have chances to shoot we have to have confidence that we can score. Marcus Rashford didn’t score today but did so much, Jadon Sancho too and he was involved in Fred’s goal.”

Ten Hag: ‘I’ll take care of (Ronaldo) tomorrow’

Ronaldo, who was benched for that game, was seen walking down the tunnel before full time.

The United manager told Prime Video after the game: “I saw him (leaving), I didn’t speak to him afterwards. I’ll deal with it tomorrow.

“Today I enjoyed this performance, we are celebrating this victory and now we have to recover from it and we have a big game against Chelsea. The Premier League is so exciting.”

Ten Hag makes United hum

Today was arguably the best game Manchester United have played under Erik ten Hag in his first season with the club.

The win marked the second time United had beaten a side that had started the day in the top three of the Premier League table this season, following their win over Arsenal in September.

A ball crossed over the Tottenham defense finds Bruno in acres of space. He makes a nice move to seat Lloris on the ground before coolly placing the ball into an open net, but the flag goes up for offside.

71′ Manchester United 2-0 Tottenham

Harry Kane had a great close-range chance as De Gea rushed in to block, and moments later United were on the attack.

A shot from Fred was blocked before the ball fell to Bruno, who wrapped a delightful effort around Lloris and into the far corner.
