napoli: UEFA Champions League: Marco Negri expects Rangers players to sit out against Napoli

Rangers are without a point in the current Champions League and face the Serie A leaders who have scored 17 goals in four matches. The clash takes place in Italy next week.

Former Rangers boss Walter Smith signed Negri for £3.5m in 1997. He scored 33 league goals before suffering an eye injury and having to leave mid-season.

His abrupt departure is seen as one of the reasons Rangers failed to win ten straight wins with Celtic that season.

Negri has concerns for his current Rangers side. He expects them to have a different approach than when they played at Ibrox. Besides, he hopes they will sit down and accept that Napoli will attack aggressively.

Napoli fans managed to collect 35,000 tickets for the next match at a 54,000 capacity Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

On the other hand, Rangers fans are yet to receive tickets after a UEFA ruling.

A Gers spokesman said Rangers fans will not be allowed in the stadium and will not be accommodated in the city.
