Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed Turin striker Andrea Belotti will be tempted by a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Belotti, who has consistently delivered for Torino over the past six years, has a campaign to forget at the moment, having found the back of the net just five times in 15 Serie A appearances this year (transfer market).

The 28-year-old’s future is uncertain with his current deal at Turin running out at the end of this season.

The print edition of Tutosport (03/28/22 – as relayed by sports witness) revealed last week that a move to the Premier League could be on the cards for Belotti this summer.

The report suggested Antonio Conte could be looking to bring the Italian to north London, with the Spurs boss valuing the centre-forward highly.

O’Rourke believes Belotti has the quality to be Harry Kane’s replacement or even to be one of the England captain’s replacements should he leave Spurs this summer.

Asked about Tottenham’s interest in the Turin star, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “Moving to the Premier League and moving to London, I’m sure that would be attractive for him.

“Maybe he could go there as a replacement for Kane or maybe as a substitute for Kane, but he’s a good player in his time and his goalscoring record stands up.”

Boosts web opinion

If Kane leaves in the summer, we should pursue two high quality strikers like Victor Osimhen and Lautaro Martinez to replace him.

Belotti certainly doesn’t have the quality required to replace the England captain. However, I would be happy to take the Torino star as Kane’s replacement if he settles for a small role at Spurs.
