There is a learning curve to this game. It is definitely not for everyone.
The prize fund is small and restricted to residents of Australia and New Zealand.
If that didn’t put you off, then I think it’s the most engaging fantasy football game I’ve played.
You have a budget of £ 100million and need to choose a squad of 15 players – 3 forwards, 5 midfielders, 5 defenders and 2 goalkeepers. There is no restriction on the number of players you can choose from a team.
Player prices are based on last season’s performance. They fluctuate according to the points scored in the last three weeks of the match.
You get 42 trades for the season, which sounds like a lot, but you’ll need it.
The goal is to build and manage your dream team.
It operates on a progressive lockout, which means you can make transfers, substitutions, change formation, change captain and vice-captain, throughout matchweek. Players only become stranded once their team plays, whether or not they are in the match. This then narrows down your options for the remaining matches in the round. It definitely helps if you live in a European time zone.
The main objective of the league is head-to-head competition. Twenty teams and you play each opponent twice. There is also the overall competition and a knockout competition.
