Tottenham consider Christensen move

Tottenham have reportedly joined the race for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

The Danish defender is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and could be set to leave Stamford Bridge for a free transfer next summer.

According to the Daily Star, Spurs are among the clubs interested in central-defender Antonio Conte looking to strengthen his defensive options in north London.

They are apparently joined in the battle for his services by Manchester United and Manchester City.

Vitesse releases Conference League statement

Amid UEFA‘s decision to postpone Spurs’ UEFA Conference League clash with Rennes, Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem have released a statement confirming they are in contact with the governing body.

He said: “Vitesse has been in the UEFA Europa Conference League waiting room since the 3-1 victory over NÅ  Mura, as the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Stade Rennais FC was called off after a Corona outbreak.

“On Saturday it became clear that this game has been called off for good, but at the same time, Vitesse is still awaiting a decision on the exact consequences of this.”

Holtby tells Spurs to get out

Former Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby has explained his reason for leaving the club for Hamburg in 2014.

The German was only with the club for 18 months and despite demand from his supporters he hinted that he felt the opportunities did not present themselves in north London.

He said: “I really wanted to stay but, at the end of the transfer window in 2014, we made the last minute decision to go back to Germany.

“I think the uncertainty had (caused my decision to leave). I really loved the playing time. I wanted to play. I didn’t want to be a team player – at that age especially.”
