“Unable to win Serie A but I tried until the end, I definitely stay”

Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi believes the team gave their all to fight for the Serie A title, even though they were unsuccessful in their pursuit.

Speaking while receiving the ‘Golden Tapir’ award for his team’s failure to win the Scudetto, as reported by FCInterNewsthe coach gave his thoughts on the past season and also confirmed that he is fully determined to stay at Inter.

Inzaghi came close to winning the Serie A title in his first season in charge of the Nerazzurri, finishing just two points behind city rivals AC Milan.

The coach has certainly shaped the team in his image, with performances in November and December and their Coppa Italia triumph particularly showing the impact he has had since arriving from Lazio last summer.

In the end, it wasn’t quite enough for the Scudetto as the team dropped a few too many points, but the coach is still proud of what his team has achieved over the season and will stay and will fight for the trophies again next season.

“Unfortunately the Scudetto race didn’t go our way,” Inzaghi said, “but we tried until the end. Our players played well, so we can only congratulate our opponents.

And regarding his future, the 46-year-old confirmed that ‘I’m definitely staying’.
