DullenMIKE is the 2022 German eFootball champion, winning the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) bevestor title and winning a €40,000 prize.

All matches were played on EA SPORTS FIFA 22.

Andreas Heyden, EVP Digital Innovations DFL Group, said: “On behalf of the DFL, I would like to congratulate DullenMIKE on winning the VBL in its 10th anniversary season. The level has steadily increased in recent years, and winning this title is an outstanding achievement!

The DFL, in cooperation with EA SPORTS, was the very first professional football league to launch an eSports competition in 2012 and the VBL remains, to this day, the only eSports competition directly integrated into EA SPORTS FIFA that is affiliated with a professional . Soccer League.

The growing popularity of VBL along with the increased relevance of eSports and the DFL’s focus on football simulation games led, in 2018, to the decision to introduce the VBL Club Championship involving the clubs of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 in addition to individual VBL. Open competition.

In addition, since 2020 the DFL has been cooperating with the world’s largest eSports company ESL. With its expertise in building and expanding ecosystems related to digital sport, the DFL wishes to further expand and professionalize the VBL.
