Data preview as West Ham welcomes Tottenham Hotspur to EPL

West Ham claimed a huge London derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, edging rivals 1-0 thanks to a goal from Michail Antonio in the second half.

David Moyes’ men entered the Premier League’s top four with the home win, making them two straight wins this week after their comfortable Europa League outing against Genk on Thursday. Tottenham, meanwhile, suffered their second straight loss, following their loss to Vitesse in the Europa Conference League – also on Thursday. The result also saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s side drop to sixth place in the table, as the Portuguese’s time as Spurs boss continues to disappoint fans at the north London club.

While the London Stadium game largely lacked the fireworks that this game so often produces, Antonio provided the spark for West Ham’s celebrations in the 72nd minute, when he stretched out a leg to convert a corner from ‘Aaron Cresswell at the near post. It was Antonio’s sixth goal of the season – his fifth in the Premier League – and Cresswell’s third assist of the week following his contribution to the home win over Genk. Follow all of the fallout from West Ham’s Premier League win over rivals Tottenham Hotspur below.

Manchester United vs Liverpool result: Mohamed Salah scores a hat-trick in a humiliating rout

It’s Manchester United.

And there they are, led 4-0 at halftime against their biggest rivals, only to lose 5-0 but in a way that looked like 9-0. They were lucky it wasn’t much worse, but it was an indictment in its own way. Liverpool could just relax.

Mo Salah’s reaction

The Liverpool hat-trick hero spoke to Sky Sports after the game and was obviously delighted with his side’s performance. He said:

I think it’s great to win 5-0 here, we knew before the game that it would be difficult if we didn’t play our game.

“We knew they would come and try to give everything, so we had to give 100%. We just tried to play our football and play between the lines to create more chances. We did it and had the chance to score.

“As long as the team continues to win, I’m happy and doing my best for the team to win. The first goal I gave Naby Keita to score.

“We know what it takes to win the Premier League, we did that two years ago. A big win here but still only three points.

“We try to win every game and try to win the title. We have to play to win it all. From our preseason heads we have to win the Premier League and hopefully we get there.

“After half-time we were talking in the locker room to continue and score as much as possible.”

87 min: Jota is knocked down by Wan-Bissaka who receives a warning. That’s six yellow cards and one red for Manchester United today. A sure sign of a team not well drilled defensively.

OFF THE BAR! Cavani finds the woodwork!

84 mins: The free kick is whipped deep into the box where Scott McTominay is free. He directs the ball into the six-meter penalty area and finds Cavani who turns the ball towards the goal and places it in the crossbar! How did he miss from there? This just isn’t happening for Man Utd.
