LA Premier League have announced that Peter Bankes will take charge of Albion’s next game against Norwich City.

Albion returns to action this weekend when they travel to Carrow Road to face the Canaries. The Seagulls hope to continue their strong start to the season and claim their fifth victory of the season.

Norwich City are currently entrenched at the bottom of the Premier League table, having lost their first six games of the season. Daniel Farke’s only point so far this season has come from his last game, a 0-0 draw against Burnley.

Albion fans will be delighted with the appointment of Peter Bankes, given his record when he was in charge of matches for the club.

Of the five matches Bankes has overseen, Albion has won three, drawn and lost once. The lone loss came in a League Cup second round match against Walsall in 2015.

Bankes refereed two Premier League matches from Albion last season. One was the 1-1 draw with Sheffield United while the other was the famous 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, with Leandro Trossard scoring the game-winning goal.

As for their record in refereeing Norwich Premier League games, the Canaries have lost twice, one was a 2-1 loss to Wolves, and the other was a 4-0 to the battery by Arsenal.

Bankes assistants will be Neil Davies, James Mainwaring. The fourth official of the match is Tim Robinson. VAR will be controlled by Graham Scott and his assistant will be Adrian Holmes.
